The easy way to wear the hijab for beginners

There are many ways of wearing the hijab. It depends on what type of hijab a person wears and what style they want to tie it.

Wearing a hijab does not have to be a complicated task. We will first introduce the simpler styles of how to wear a hijab.

First,  using a simple square hijab which means the length and the widths of the hijab are equal. Place the hijab on a flat surface and fold it across a corner meaning lift one corner and drag it across to the diagonally opposite corner of the hijab. Lift the hijab which is in triangular shape by holding the two ends across and place it over your head bringing both ends to the sides of your face. Tie a knot at the bottom or use a hijab pin to attach the two ends together. This is probably the most basic way to wear hijabs.

Second,  using a long hijab. Long hijabs are rectangular in shape and so it is obvious as to what side goes on the sides of the face. Hold the long hijab at two points close to the centre of the hijab and place the hijab over your head. Take both ends across your chin to the other sides and throw back the remaining ends or tie them at the back of your neck. If you prefer you can bring the ends back in front and hide them in your Jilbab. This is a very popular way to wear the hijab.

Thirdly, the hijab sidekick style. In this style a long hijab is used once again. Hold the hijab at two points three quarter of the length down and place it over your head. You will notice that one end is longer than the other. While holding the shorter length wrap the longer end of the hijab firmly around your head attach a hijab pin wherever the length ends. Take the shorter end and wrap it around the neck over the other side and push it into the back end of your hijab which will hold it since it is firmly tied. This style creates a neat and elegant look and is a simple way to wear the hijab.

If grease and big, how to look slimmer and taller

The way you dress can help you

1.      Positive thinking
The important thing, do not feel bad about your body. You have to focus on the positive aspects of you: your smile, your eyes, your waist, your legs, etc. Accentuate the positive and disguise the negative.

2.     Color
Do not be afraid to experiment with color. Black is not the only option to look slender. Color and variety can help you look thinner. The secret is to use one color in many different tones and you have created a monochromatic look.

3.     Avoid horizontal Stripes
Avoid horizontal stripes but rather go for vertical stripes. They make you look slimmer and taller without going on a diet.

4.     Elongate your body
If you are not very tall, and most of us are not, try to elongate your body by using pants that cover your shoes.

5.     Do not use clothes that do not fit
Many women think that if the clothes are tight or loose they will look thinner. This is not true; they will only look fatter, instead. Your clothes have to fit your body.

6.     Not too tight
On the negative side, tight clothes only make us look like a sausage.

7.      Not too loose clothes
Oversizes clothes may hide the imperfections but it does not do justice to your positive points and you will look not only bigger, but also without any shape. You are highlighting the very things you want to hide. Forget big T-shirts and blouses without any fitting.

8.     Avoid extra material around your tummy
Pants with pleats, elastic waist or string waists are only adding volume to your waist. Same applies to skirts.

9.     Be careful with accessories
They can also make you look fatter or skinnier: if you have a tummy, large belts should be avoided, because you are putting attention on your tummy. The same way necklaces too close to your face should be used carefully if you have a double chin, because it will accentuate the chin; longer necklaces have the opposite effect.

Women's Dress in Islam

Hijab is a word that indicates not just the headscarf but clothing in its entirety which meets the following conditions (based on Quranic)  :

  1. Clothing must cover the entire body, only the hands and face may remain visible (According to some Fiqh Schools) .
  2. The material must not be so thin that one can see through it.
  3. The clothing must hang loose so that the shape / form of the body is not apparent.
  4. The female clothing must not resemble the man's clothing.
  5. The design of the clothing must not resemble the clothing of the non believing women.
  6. The design must not consist of bold designs which attract attention.
  7. Clothing should not be worn for the sole purpose of gaining reputation or increasing one's status in society.

The reason for this strictness is so that the woman is protected from the lustful gaze of men. She should not attract attention to herself in any way. It is permissible for a man to catch the eye of a woman , however it is haram (unlawful) for a man to look twice as this encourages lustful thoughts.

Islam protects the woman. It is for this reason that Allah gave these laws.

How to Draw Fashion Illustrations

  1. Draw a body template. If you will be drawing a lot of clothes, you will not want to draw the body every time- just the clothes. But drawing clothes without the body sometimes results in incorrectly proportioned results.
  2. If you doubt your ability, simply trace one from a book or magazine or ask a skilled friend to do it for you.
  3. Scan your body drawing. if you have computer skills, put it in Photoshop or other similar application and make it so that there are 4-8 of the body on the page. Print a few sheets out. If you aren nott a computer whiz, just photocopy
  4. You can start by drawing clothes you want, things you have seen that you liked, or how you would modify your own clothes if you could.
  5. If you like the drawing, you can outline it in black and add color.

Originality is Important

Originality is important, because it would be characteristic of a fashion designer.

Most beginners have a good deal of inhibition about creating original fashion sketches. A few pointers will help to showing how simple it is to acquire originality.

First of all, don't worry about it. It will come naturally after thorough groundwork and practice.  For instance, take an authentic pattern pamphlet. Use the pose of one figure for your sketch and the dress of another (preferably a different pose).

This changing of poses and dresses is an excellent exercise for the amateur.

Take your clipping file as a suggestion for a pose. However, the artist should never copy another sketch or pose exactly.

If he is using a sketch for a suggestion, he should change some part of the pose If the model in the clipping has both hands on her hips, place one hand on her hat or down at her side, or turn the head for your sketch.

Photographs offer another means of developing originality and are especially recommended for wash drawings. Nearly all fashion magazines reproduce pictures of smartly dressed women.

Practise copying them, remembering to change the figure to fashion proportions.
The best method of all for creating original sketches is to have a live model pose for you. Let the model take her pose, and you study it.

How to Create Fashion Figures?

In fashion illustration you must retain the basic proportions of the human form from head to crotch, only add extra length to the legs to give dramatic stylised effect and give your designs more dynamic appeal.

In drawing your figure should be drawn long and slim with squared off shoulders and very unrealistically elongated legs. It will look extremely out of proportion, as the legs tend to be exaggeratedly long. The waist must be drawn very slender.

In drawing your figure, remember that the waist is one third down from the top of the figure. It is most important to show this important aspect of the figure, which will add to the elegance of your croquis.

The Fashion Figure is not the same with The Human Figure

The Fashion Figure is not the same with The Human Figure
There is a vast difference between the fashion figure and the human figure.

The greatest difference is in the height of the two figures.

The fashion figure is always taller, more graceful and more seductive in line.

The variance in other ways may be summed up in a few words: the fashion figure is higher busted, broader and squarer shouldered, and narrower, very narrow, in the hips. The proportions vary from season to season to exploit more perfectly the current modes, but these are the general high points to remember.

The average human figure is seven and one-half heads tall, whereas a fashion figure may be from eight to ten heads tall, - in extreme mannequin types, as many as twelve heads.

However, the height of the fashion figure should be governed by the length of the head and the width of the shoulders. This added height lends sophistication, grace and smartness to the figure - qualities that are envied by the majority of women and therefore enhance the appeal of an advertisement.

Fashion is Art

Fashion is art. When most people think of art they think of the typical things such as painting, sculpture, or performance art.

Generally, people do not think fashion as art. There are so many ways that fashion, or can, be considered art. Art can be defined as anything from music, to the website, to painting, and fashion. You can choose how to define your own art.

"Art has a purpose but to be and to provide an opportunity to enjoy the beauty."
